This week we posted a fun little reel where you can be assigned a random object from our studio here at Spraycan. Now, it’s definitely not the most normal objects you’d find in your run-of-the-mill graphic design or creative studio, and that’s pretty fitting for us. We tend to work from an unconventional approach to deliver a more unique and tailored result to our wonderful clients. But here’s a little story behind each of those objects, in case you were wondering a little bit more about who we are and how we work when we’re designing sweet websites or the next brand strategy.
Grimace
You probably know of a little restaurant called McDonalds, and you probably remember when the Grimace Shake took the internet by storm. We got our favorite purple dude during one of our Friday staff lunches, back when the Cactus Plant Flea Market collab was out. We all got our own adult Happy Meals, and Alex’s toy ended up being Grimace. Now he lives at our studio! He currently resides in our bathroom, overseeing his very important, very serious office roles from there. We all hold great respect for Grimace, and he should be feared.

Bug Cup
So, at Spraycan, we don’t tolerate any kind of bug friends. But removing them from the premises by squishing them doesn’t always feel great. So, therefore, we have a dedicated, beautifully decorated Hideaway Pizza cup that is reserved specifically for escorting those guys outside of our studio. It’s just a tiny taste of our creative problem solving.

Can of Farts
On one of our many staff outings, we visited an arcade slash bowling slash food place called Andy B’s in Oklahoma City. We had a lot of fun there visiting with their team and touring their place to make some new local connections, and, of course, play a couple games. By the end of it, we had enough tickets to cash out on a prize, so, of course, a can of farts was the obvious choice. At first, we were pretty disappointed with how muffled the noise maker sounds, however, it ended up being a pretty funny object. Our office dog Minnie is absolutely fascinated by it, and gets real excited by it. She even chatters her teeth, running around and sniffing the little can. Maybe there’s some secret language of farts we can’t understand that tells dogs the true meaning of life. I guess we’ll never know. Regardless, this noisemaker is a very blatant example of our company’s playful spirit; fulfilling work can’t be made without a little bit of humor or fun along the way.

Dwight Schrute
Beets. Bears. Bobblehead. Battlestar Galactica. That’s all.

Post-It Note Doodles
The doodle we showcased in our reel is of a hot dog guy with a line from a Foo Fighters song captioning it. I can’t really explain the context behind it, because I don’t think it would make more sense. But it’s just a mere taste of the random, silly doodles we have filling our desks from the conversations we have while we’re working on projects. It’s nice to even spend 30 seconds of a screen break just drawing whatever comes to mind. It keeps the day interesting and lets our creative sides flow freely.

Red Bull
We may have only shown a single can of Red Bull in this illustration, but rest assured, we have a lifetime supply here in our office. Our team had the opportunity to partner with Red Bull on their Campus Clutch esports tournament last fall, via our sister company Fatcap. We designed the jerseys for that event, which was really fun, and gave us a chance to show our ability to bring a creative vision to life on a larger scale. As part of our work, we were sent two entire pallets worth of Red Bull, which Patrick and Alex ended up unloading by themselves. Contrary to popular belief, we do not have a loading dock, so it was more of a manual labor day for us. But now we have energy forever.

Spraycan Salt Shaker
Obviously we have to have a salt shaker shaped like our namesake. No explanation needed. Our brand identity is strong enough to reach our stomachs.

Street Fighter Arcade Cabinet
As we mentioned before, we do have a sister company called Fatcap, which functions within the esports space. So, sometimes, we get the opportunity to have a booth at various tournaments or other events, and we like to bring a bit of fun with us in the form of Street Fighter! Patrick is a big fan of Street Fighter, so typically, anyone who can beat him will receive a prize at events. It’s just a fun and memorable addition to have in addition to our sparkling personalities at a booth. Everyone loves a little arcade break! It provides an interactive and engaging approach to what may normally be a standard networking opportunity.

(Hold Me Closer) Tiny Dumpsterrrr
Count the headlights on the highway… Anyways. This has nothing to do with Elton John, unfortunately. We just like tiny cute things, and what better to store some pens or minuscule trash in than a tiny dumpster in a Spraycan-y green color. Duh!
